Jolene Molitoris, a native of Warren and the first female director of the Ohio Department of Transportation, will speak on “The Future of Transportation in Ohio” at this Government Affairs Council luncheon. The John F. Kennedy High School graduate received her undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., and her graduate degree from Case Western in Cleveland. She began her career at the Ohio Rail Transportation Authority, achieving the position of executive director, and later served as Deputy Director for Rail at ODOT. President Clinton appointed her as the first woman to head the Federal Railroad Administration. In 2007, Governor Strickland appointed Molitoris as chair of the Ohio Rail Development Commission, the first woman to lead that organization. She was named ODOT director in 2009 by the Governor with the charge of modernizing the state’s multi-modal transportation system through collaboration and innovation.
This is a great opportunity to hear from a native daughter, state leader and national authority on transportation. It’s an event you won’t want to miss.
