James Dignan

James Dignan became President & CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber in January 2017 and leads the full range of activities needed to ensure the organization’s success in meeting its objectives in economic development, membership services, government affairs and other special programs. As the chief executive and administrative officer of the Regional Chamber, he oversees the $2.7 million annual budget and guides the strategic direction of the organization while fostering a work environment driving creativity, accountability and results.

Prior to assuming the role of CEO, James served as the chief operating officer and was responsible for directing the day-to-day business operations of the Regional Chamber and its affiliates. He had served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors from 2015 to 2016 and was instrumental in the creation of its Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission.

James is chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Metro Chambers Coalition  and is also a member of the Board of Directors of TeamNEO. He is an Ohio Advisory Committee Member of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and served on the Executive Board of the Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council.

James retired from the Air Force with nearly 30 years in positions around the globe, including an assignment as the Commander of the 910th Airlift Wing at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna. He retired as a command pilot with more than 6,500 hours in trainer, patrol, reconnaissance and airlift aircraft.

The Niles resident received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of the State of New York and his Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. He and wife Simona are the proud parents of three girls.
