Executive Director: Mr. Robert (Bob) L. Faulkner Sr.
The MVLMC is a nonprofit organization receiving funding from State of Ohio grants; revenue generated by training services and workshops; and contributions from industry, labor and private citizens.
The Mission:
Our mission is to increase economic growth and improve the economic climate in the Mahoning Valley by providing neutral educational and training resources that foster cooperation between labor and management. This is accomplished by sponsoring credentialed workshops and seminars that:
- Increase labor/management understanding
- Facilitate problem solving
- Prevent conflict
- Improve productivity
- Increase economic growth
- Offer neutral mediation services
The MVLMC Story:
In the early 1970's, declining demand for steel and other manufactured goods led to business closures, lost jobs and further deterioration of labor/management relationships. Subsequently, the Mahoning Valley Labor Management Citizens Committee was armed in 1974 to address these problems, reverse the negative trends, and improve the economic climate in the Mahoning Valley.
Chartered by the State of Ohio, today's MVLMC is a permanent nonprofit organization governed by an executive board consisting of labor and business leaders drawn equally.
