The Project 180 Esther Home for Women will hold grand opening events on August 23, 24 and 26. An open house will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony and will continue from 5 – 7 p.m. on August 24 and from 1 – 3 p.m. on the 26th.

The Project 180 Esther Home for Women is not a rehab center, but rather, a Christian residential discipleship program, dedicated to seeing the lives of women changed from the inside out, and seeing women freed from their addictions. The mission of Project 180 is to lead the Mahoning Valley to be first in recovery from addiction.

The purpose of the Esther Home for Women is to provide a home at little cost and sustain residents physically while patiently loving them through the healing process. Our goal is to enable women to engage in “extreme makeovers” in the following areas:

  • Spiritually, through in-depth teaching and application of Bible study
  • Mentally, through renewing the mind by replacing old thought patterns with new, clean ones
  • Emotionally, through coaching and mentoring to change old behaviors
  • Physically, through the loving hands of professionals, such as doctors, dentists, stylists, etc.

The Esther Home provides a 14-month program with two seven-month phases. Residents are required to live on campus during the first seven months of the program. In addition to being housed and fed, other needs are assessed on an individual basis, such as the need for counseling, mentoring, GED attainment, continuing education and career and job skills training. Individual development plans will be created based on these needs.

The average cost for a woman to stay in the Esther Home is $1000 per month. No resident will be turned away for financial reasons, however, and the organization offers three scholarship levels for donor contributions.
