The Simple Greek is redefining the traditional Greek restaurant! The fast casual concept that was born on the hit reality TV program The Profit has opened in Boardman.

Marcus Lemonis, successful entrepreneur and the star of the show, says he knows that the fresh Greek concept will be a hit with health-conscious customers in Ohio.

Lemonis’ relationship with the restaurant began when a Greek restaurant chain in Pittsburgh was featured on The Profit. On the show, viewers watch Lemonis turn around struggling businesses and buy an ownership stake in the companies. Lemonis rebranded the chain as The Simple Greek and created an open assembly line model for gyros, build-your-own Greek bowls, salads and authentic sides.

Some two dozen franchise openings are expected this year, but Ohio finds itself at the front of the line with a restaurant located in the Valley. Local franchise Owner, Ron Taylor, says he knew as soon as he saw the TV show that he wanted in.

“I am an operator, so franchising works very well for me,” Taylor (co-owner of The Simple Greek with Lori Taylor and their business partners Sean and Becca Ferrier) said. “If you give me the ground rules and the framework, we can be successful.” The Taylors are also franchise owners of Edible Arrangements, with 8 locations in Ohio, PA and WV.
