The trip will feature meetings and discussions with White House advisors, senior officials from cabinet-level departments, Congressional members and their staffs, as well as valuable networking opportunities — all designed for Valley leaders to advance important issues that impact economic development and quality of life in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

    As threats to the Youngstown Air Reserve Station continue to mount, the importance of the Mahoning Valley’s inaugural D.C. Fly-in magnifies. House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry has proposed giving the Department of Defense the power to close small military installations. Eastern Ohio Military Affairs Commission Director Vito Abruzzino views that as a serious threat to the local station, which is one of the Valley’s biggest economic engines.

He has offered commentary on shows such as “The Dennis Miller Show,” “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” “Larry King Live,” “The O’Reilly Factor” and “The Today Show.” He currently hosts the syndicated talk radio show, “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” which airs on more than 75 stations nationwide.
