Opportunity Zones offer investors tax credits while helping to build communities

A new community investment program that connects private capital with communities was created through the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act federal tax bill and allowed the U.S. Treasury to designate certain census tracts as Opportunity Zones. Investment in these zones are eligible to receive a 10-year federal tax break.
