The Regional Chamber's President & CEO Tom Humphries today announced that he has promoted Sarah Boyarko to the post of vice president of Economic Development, Business Retention and Expansion. Boyarko has been a member of Chamber staff since 2006, most recently serving as manager of business development.
“We are extremely happy to have Sarah leading our economic development team. We’ve received numerous positive comments from officials from Columbus to Cleveland regarding her contributions to our economic development efforts in the Mahoning Valley,” Humphries said.
Humphries lauded Boyarko’s most recent work in helping to land the Exterran project in Youngstown, which will include $13 million in investments for a new plant that will create 103 jobs.
“Her work in assisting with the Exterran project was significant and has been recognized both in the community and by Exterran company officials,” Humphries said.
He noted that Boyarko represents the Chamber on various economic organizations on the state and regional levels, including the Ohio Economic Development Association, Cleveland Plus Business Development Council, Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium Marketing Committee and the Workforce Investment Board of Trumbull County.
Boyarko, a Boardman resident, is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Mahoning Valley and a 2009 honoree of the Mahoning Valley Young Professional’s 40 Under 40 award. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees from Youngstown State University.
She succeeds Walter Good as leader of the Chamber’s Economic Development division. Good left the Regional Chamber in 2011 to become Director of Business Development for Team NEO/JobsOhio.
