Creek MetroParks is one of
the nation's largest and most prestigious municipal parks systems. Covering more
than 2,530 acres, it includes: D. D. & Velma
Davis Education and Visitors Center, which received the Outstanding Facility Award
from the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association. - Lanterman's Mill - a working
mill which operates today as it did in the 1800's by grinding corn, buckwheat
and oats.
- Mill Creek Park Championship Golf Course which was ranked 26th
Best Municipal Public Golf Course in the country by Golfweek Magazine.

Western Reserve Greenway, Metropark Bikeway, Little Beaver Creek Greenway and

The Chevrolet Centre,
home to the Youngstown Steelhounds ice hockey and the Mahoning Valley Thunder
arena football teams, opened Fall 2005. The new entertainment venue hosts hockey
and indoor football games and other sports competitions, concerts, motocross,
circuses, ice shows, consumer and trade shows and other special events.

the Butler Institute for American Art houses one of the world's

DeYor Performing Arts Center is home to the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra
and includes the Edward W. Powers Auditorium, Ford Family Recital Hall at the
Eleanor Beecher Flad Pavilion, Adler Art Academy and Overture Restaurant. This
opulent facility was commissioned by the motion-picture-famed Warner Brothers

Football
- Youngstown State University features one of the nation's best collegiate football
programs. As NCAA Division 1-AA National Football Champions in 1991, 1993, 1994
and 1997, the Penguins play to sellout crowds at the 20,000-seat Stambaugh Stadium.

Steelhounds began their inaugural season at the newly completed Chevrolet
Centre in the fall of 2005. The team competes in the Central Hockey League

Phantoms, affiliated with the North American Hockey League (NAHL), compete

Golf
– Golf Digest ranked the Youngstown-Warren area fourth on its list of Best
