Reports To:           Senior Vice President of Marketing & Member Services

General Description

The Marketing & Graphics Specialist is responsible for working with the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Member Services in the coordination and production of all the Chamber’s marketing and communications products and activities.  



Duties & Responsibilities

Publications/Printed Pieces

  • Coordinate, design and produce Chamber publications and material including advertisements, brochures, flyers, event invitations, programs, etc. Facilitate printing through outside vendors if necessary.
  • Consult and assist in the design, production and development of the Chamber’s annual report (issued annually) and other annual pieces.
  • Assist in gathering/coordinating content for Valley Business Magazine, published bi-monthly. 

Social Media

  • Establish strategy for and manage and maintain all Chamber social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Develop a posting schedule and monitor posts for comments. 

Marketing

  • Develop a schedule for marketing Chamber programs and events.

Electronic Communications

  • Compile, write/edit and design bi-monthly electronic e-newsletter using MailChimp. 
  • Compile, write/edit monthly Member Benefits e-newsletter. 
  • Send all other electronic email updates as needed, including standalone event reminders, Economic Development newsletters, etc. 
  • Update the Regional Chamber’s website as needed.

Other Duties As Assigned

  • Administrative support to Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Member Services.  
  • Photo, video, publication archive development and maintenance.  
  • Chamber style guide development and maintenance.  
  • Printed materials, i.e., business cards, envelopes, stationary, etc. and promotional items.  Design and/or order and maintain inventory.
  • Provide support to Events, Membership, Economic Development and Government Affairs departments and Chamber Foundation as needed. 
  • Special projects as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Four-year college degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or related discipline. 
  • Minimum five years of experience in the production of marketing materials and writing/editing. 

Skills Required

  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • Advanced skill level in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator. 
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill level in managing company pages on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter/Tweetdeck, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skill level in email marketing programs such as MailChimp.
  • Intermediate skill level with website CMS systems such as Wix and Sitefinity. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills are a plus; clear written and oral communications are a must.  
  • Strong organizational skills.  Must be detail-oriented. 
  • Design, graphics and advertising background preferred.

Physical Requirements:  
Flexibility and availability to accommodate a full schedule of responsibilities, occasionally including early mornings, evenings and weekends.  

Performance Standards
The effectiveness of the Marketing and Graphic Specialist is measured against annual goals established with the SVP of Marketing Member Services for his/her Chamber leadership in the region. These goals are based upon internal and external performance measures articulated in the Regional Chamber’s strategic plan.

Evaluation/Review Process
The effectiveness of the Marketing and Graphic Specialist is ordinarily reviewed annually through a professional development and evaluation process facilitated by the VP of Marketing and Member Services, which includes input from the Marketing and Graphic Specialist.
