The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is now offering economic impact analyses as part of its unique portfolio of services for businesses, local governments and other organizations throughout the Mahoning Valley.

An economic impact analysis examines the effect of an event on the economy in a specified area and typically measures changes in business revenue and profits, personal wages and number of jobs. However, the analysis can also evaluate the outcome from community events or municipal taxing.

As the lead economic development organization serving Mahoning and Trumbull counties, the Regional Chamber understands the importance of showcasing the impact that a company investment has on our market, no matter the size. The Chamber’s team will present an analysis for each of the expansion and attraction projects they manage on an annual basis, as well as provide this service to organizations, private companies and local governments that are in need of such an analysis as they consider investments individually.

Shea MacMillan, manager of Business Development at the Regional Chamber, said, “Performing an economic impact analysis for each one of the Chamber’s economic development projects will be instrumental in presenting their value to the communities that are impacted by the direct investment or spin-off growth.”

The service is supported by the Regional Chamber Foundation and ms consultants, inc.

“Our two organizations are coming together so that the Mahoning Valley’s economic development professionals have the tools needed to grow the region’s economy,” said Guy Coviello, president of the Foundation, a charitable 501(c)3 organization that supports economic development activities in the Valley.

Jeanne Mosure, vice president at engineering, architecture, planning and environmental consulting firm ms, added, “Providing resources to help the Youngstown-Warren region grow is important for our company, whose roots are firmly planted here.”

Since 1993, the Regional Chamber has assisted 570 firms that have invested $6.4 billion in the area and created 24,800 new jobs. The Economic Development team is currently managing $1.5 billion of investment that could result in the creation of 607 new jobs over the next 12-24 months.
