Food Processing and Manufacturing

The Youngstown-Warren metro area provides a full range of services to companies in the food processing industry. We have an abundance of raw materials, to more than 150 grain and 130 dairy cattle and milk production farms, award-winning container manufacturers, innovative food production lines and a well-connected transportation network that quickly transfers products from warehouse to consumer.

In the last three years, food-related industries have invested nearly $50 million in the Mahoning Valley, and they now make up 7.5% of all manufacturing jobs here.  There are 41 food-related companies whose employees have an average salary of $16.25 per hour.
