Eight local business leaders will be recognized at the Regional Chamber’s annual Salute to Business breakfast on Sept. 3. This year’s honorees include:
- Business Professional of the Year — Sharon Hrina, vice president, Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley
- Business Advocate of the Year — George Bakeris and Spiro Bakeris, owners, Ohio Commerce Center
- Non-Profit Professional of the Year — Deryck Toles, founder and president, Inspiring Minds
- Salute To Labor Achievement — Kevin Reilly, executive vice president, Builders Association of Eastern Ohio & Western Pennsylvania
- Entrepreneur of the Year — Eric Ryan, president, JAC Management Group and Eric Ryan Productions, LLC
- Small Business Person of the Year — Bob & Peppe Smith, owners, Camelot Lanes
Tracie Mavrogianis of AVI Foodsystems and Dominic Marchionda of NYO Property Group will also be recognized for their significant efforts and contributions during the Chamber’s membership event in May.
As is tradition at the Salute event, Bo Pelini, Youngstown State University head football coach, will preview the Penguins’ upcoming season, leading up to the opening game against the University of Pittsburgh Panthers on Sept. 5. And, members of the Canfield Fair Board will help kick off their 169th event.
Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. at Mr. Anthony's, 7440 South Ave, Boardman. PNC Bank and Western Reserve Building & Construction Trades Council are sponsors of the Salute To Business breakfast.
