Trumbull County Commissioners approved a new 12-month, $23,000 contract with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber to continue its multi-faceted economic development efforts in the county.

The Chamber oversees the retention and expansion of local business and attraction of new business throughout the Valley, providing a broad range of proven economic development services by assisting companies in identifying suitable properties, securing project incentives, obtaining strategic information and much more.

Sarah Boyarko, the Chamber’s senior vice president of Economic Development, said, “In 2017 and year-to-date in 2018, the Regional Chamber managed 13 Trumbull County projects totaling $97,593,414 of private company investment and the creation of 217 new jobs, with an estimated annual payroll of more than $9,166,504. In addition, the investment resulted in 862 retained jobs.”

Dan Polivka, president of the Board of Commissioners, noted that, “The Regional Chamber represents the county well through its economic development services, used to support local business expansions and the attraction of new investment to Trumbull County."

The Chamber is currently managing 30 pending projects throughout the Valley—totaling approximately $2,224,307,700—that are expected to be announced within the next 12 to 24 months. “Much of this pending investment is targeted for Trumbull County, and we look forward to future announcements about local growth, as well as bringing several new companies to our market,” said Boyarko.

The Regional Chamber’s Economic Development division, including workforce development and government affairs, is housed on the fourth floor of the Mahoning Building in Downtown Warren.
