Construction & Procurement Guide

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is excited to announce the launch of its first Construction & Procurement Guide, which promotes the capabilities of our members in those sectors and provides a single source of information for companies that need their services. The easy-to-use piece includes more than 300 industry members covering all aspects of construction: planning and architecture, site development, general and specialty contractors, specialty services such as brownfield remediation and rail construction and repair and much more.

As the lead economic development organization serving Mahoning and Trumbull counties, the Regional Chamber is constantly looking for ways to support existing companies' growth. Through our efforts on expansion and attraction projects, the organization's Economic Development team often assists with the procurement process and shares target lists and introductions of member companies for such opportunities.

Regional Chamber COO Sarah Boyarko said, "Our creation and publication of this guide is intended to be a proactive approach to fostering business-to-business connections, between our economic development activities and our membership. We are asked for this information frequently, and we are proud not only to be able to deliver it in one comprehensive piece, but also to promote so many of our members at the same time."

The Construction & Procurement Guide (which can be viewed as a flipbook and/or downloaded as a PDF) was created with input from a working group of Chamber members representing various aspects of the industry who provided feedback on the content and structure of the piece. That group of experts included the Western Reserve Building Trades, Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, Rudolph Libbe Group, Alcon Mechanical, Simon Roofing and ms consultants.

Simon Roofing's Senior Vice President of Marketing Sue Stricklin noted, "Throughout the 115+ year history, Simon Roofing has valued our trusted business relationships with not only our customers, but also with community organizations like the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber. We are happy to be a part of the Construction & Procurement Guide, and we look forward to the opportunity of communicating our commercial/industrial roofing repair, restoration and replacement services for consideration in economic development projects and building renovation projects throughout the Mahoning Valley."

'Joe' Dickey Electric came onboard as one of several sponsors of the guide. President Eric Carlson added, "Buying local includes building local. The Valley's construction resources are among the finest you will find anywhere in the country. 'Joe' Dickey Electric would like to thank the Regional Chamber for helping to promote our contractors and tradesmen!"

The Regional Chamber is currently managing more than $4.1 billion of pending investment, and the Construction & Procurement Guide will be shared with all companies the team is working with, as well as available at regionalchamber.com.

Companies must be current Regional Chamber members to be included in the guide, and the piece will be updated biannually to reflect the addition of new members and removal of businesses that may no longer be members.
