Regional Chamber Announces Search for New President & CEO

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is announcing that its Board of Directors will begin a search for a new president & CEO this fall and expects to fill the position in the first quarter of 2021. The incoming president & CEO will replace current Chamber leader Tom Humphries, who led the organization starting in 1997 until retiring in 2017 but was asked to return by the Board in November 2019.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is announcing that its Board of Directors will begin a search for a new president & CEO this fall and expects to fill the position in the first quarter of 2021. The incoming president & CEO will replace current Chamber leader Tom Humphries, who led the organization starting in 1997 until retiring in 2017 but was asked to return by the Board in November 2019.

This is an outstanding opportunityfor a chamber of commerce, association, economic development or public- or private-sector executive to lead and expand an organization committed to the success of the Youngstown-Warren region. The Regional Chamber plays a key role in retaining existing businesses in our community, assisting companies with their expansions and working to attract new businesses to our market. The Chamber enjoys solid member relations and an excellent reputation with key organizations in the area, region and state, along with strong fiscal results. The President & CEO will inherit an enthusiastic and dedicated Chamber staff and a committed Board of Directors. This position represents a leadership opportunity to bring the organization to “the next level,” along with an exciting role in defining the Valley for years to come.

The ideal candidate for this position is currently serving as the top executive of an economic development-focused organization, comparable chamber of commerce or related significant business association. Alternative experience includes serving as a senior executive at a larger-like enterprise as noted above, or as an executive from a complex private- or public- sector entity. A Bachelor’s degree is required in the humanities, political science, business, public administration, economics or other related concentration. Advanced degrees are preferred.
