Chamber Welcomes Director of Government Affairs

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is pleased to announce that Lyle Huffman has joined the team as director of Government Affairs.
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is pleased to announce that Lyle Huffman has joined the team as director of Government Affairs.

In this position, Huffman will develop and implement an annual action plan advancing public policy promoting economic prosperity for Regional Chamber members and quality of life for the Valley; serve as a liaison between Chamber members and local, state and federal governments; develop the content, agendas and sponsorships for government affairs events including the Columbus Drive-In, D.C. Fly-in, Salute to Elected Officials Wine Tasting, Lattes & Legislators speaker series and other events; advocate in Columbus and D.C. on behalf Regional Chamber members and the business community; and more. 

Chamber President & CEO Guy Coviello said, "We are privileged to bring on board someone with the credentials, experience and knowledge of government affairs. With Lyle's expertise, we will continue to work closely with our local, state and federal policymakers to improve the business climate in the Valley."

Huffman has spent the past near decade as the director of Public Services and Community Development/assistant town manager for the Town of Greenville, Pennsylvania. In these roles, he helped write and maintain annual operational budgets; was an advisor on council and community boards; counseled the town manager during contract negotiations; wrote and updated ordinances and resolutions; promoted community development via outreach and public presentations; developed and implemented public policy and created and managed stakeholder groups for policy planning; and more.

Prior to his employment with the Town of Greenville, the Howland resident was a project manager with Wayne Homes. He received his Bachelor of Science in business marketing and Master of Public Administration degrees from the University of Phoenix.
