    After final determination that the Youngstown-Warren region does not meet all of the criteria for Amazon’s proposed second corporate headquarters (HQ2), the Regional Chamber and local leaders are standing behind the decision of its economic development partners TeamNEO and JobsOhio to submit a Cleveland site that did meet all criteria for consideration for the $5 billion project.

  • State Controlling Board Approves $100,000 Grant for Girard Gas Station Cleanup

    The State of Ohio Controlling Board approved at its meeting today a Fast Track Abandoned Gas Station Grant of up to $100,000 to fund the cleanup of an abandoned gas station site on S. State Street in Girard. The former McQuaids station, which has been vacant, boarded and non-operational for several years, was acquired by the Trumbull County Treasurer through foreclosure last year.

  • Valley Leaders Announce Preferred Site for Amazon HQ2 Proposal

  • Venture Plastics Receives Abatement for $3 Million Expansion

    Both Trumbull County Commissioners and Braceville Township Trustees approved at their respective meetings this morning and Tuesday evening a 10-year, 60 percent enterprise zone abatement of real estate taxes—as presented by the Trumbull County Planning Commission—for a nearly $3 million expansion project at Venture Plastics, located at 4000 Warren-Ravenna Road.

  • Taiwanese Chefs to Visit Valley, Train Professional Chefs

    Renowned Taiwanese Chefs Chi-wen Chen and Ching-Long Huang (Arron) will visit the Valley Sept. 5-8 on one of just five stops across the U.S. on their 2017 Tour of Taiwan Gourmet Cuisines. In addition to cooking with students of the Mahoning and Trumbull career and technical centers and Choffin, Chen and Huang will also teach a master’s class to professional chefs in the area and serve a 5-course meal at a dinner event hosted by the Regional Chamber’s Senior Advisor, Asian Market, and former Board member Florence Wang.

  • Regional Chamber, City of Niles Look To Redevelop Properties To Spur Growth

    The Regional Chamber and City of Niles have launched an aggressive property redevelopment program using a recently completed Youngstown State University study. The study, spearheaded by volunteers from The Avenue & Main community group and completed by YSU’s Regional Economic Development Initiative, identified abandoned and tax-delinquent properties throughout the city. The Regional Chamber’s Economic Development team and city leaders are now engaged in positioning those parcels for future economic growth.
