In an effort to position itself to grow existing businesses and attract new business, Weathersfield Township has entered into a contract with the Regional Chamber to provide customized economic development and related services.

Under the terms of the one-year, $20,000-contract, the Chamber will provide to Weathersfield specific services that focus on economic development, government advocacy and marketing, under the leadership of Senior Vice President of Economic Development Sarah Boyarko, Vice President of Government Affairs Guy Coviello and Vice President of Marketing Kim Calvert.

Services range from the Chamber team’s customizing an inventory of available property, addressing ongoing corridor issues and conducting additional business retention and expansion visits with existing companies, to supporting these efforts via marketing strategy, while monitoring state and federal legislation that impacts the township’s business climate. Collectively, the services are designed to create a strategy in an effort to increase future growth opportunities.

“We are pleased to partner with Weathersfield Township trustees and utilize our longtime expertise to assist with their efforts for new development and growth,” said Boyarko.

“When an opportunity is presented, you have to bring your ‘A game’ if you want to compete,” she added. “There is so much competition out there that having a comprehensive and organized approach will ensure that Weathersfield will have a seat at the table.”

Weathersfield Township Trustee Gil Blair also noted, “This is an excellent opportunity for the township to grow and support its business community. We believe that the Regional Chamber has the resources to take the township’s economic development program to the next level.”
